Dongfang Tenghong, oil painter from Chengdu
Dongfang Tenghong, born Zhang Jun and also known as Dongfang Yiren, was born in Chengdu, Sichuan, in 1962, with ancestral roots in Linhai, Zhejiang. He works in oil and ink on paper. His official contact page lists his studio in Chengdu.
Horses are among this Sichuan artist’s subjects. The website presents five series: Life Totem, Highland & White Steed, Flower Season, New Ink and Early Works. Eastern Dawn belongs to Highland & White Steed.
A 2017 report on the Tianfu Centennial Art Documentary Exhibition, published on Artron, identifies Dongfang Tenghong as a Chengdu painter and discusses horses in his oil and ink paintings.
